Forget the day that you first met
Forget how dazed you were back then
And to her eyes, yours were set

Forget the way she made you glad
Though not trying much, she does

Forget the way that her face beams
Forget the sparkle in her eyes
Forget the jokes you used to share
In lame attempt to see her smile

Forget the way she makes you weak
Forget the way she looked at you
Forget the things you used to seek
Forget the reasons why you do

Forget the nights you spent to cry
Forget how you pain to each teardrop
Forget how it eases to her each line
Forget the way she made it stop

Forget you wrote her poems and songs
Forget the music that she brings
Forget you cared to what was wrong
Forget you gave her everything

Forget why you loved her so
Forget why your nights turned day
I'll be fine in time, I know
So long as I forget the ways

Forget you ever wrote this poem
Forget you used it to exhaust
The stain that dwells inside your soul
Forget the things that now are lost
